Despite making so many chances, Liverpool failed to score 

  What is it like ya, attacked repeatedly but do not score at all, and even conceded that the referee's decision?  Ask it to Liverpool, because last night, Luis Suarez et al feel the bitterness of such feelings. Liverpool, though mastering the game and created many chances throughout the match but failed to score a goal.
  Stoke been able to win this time by Jonathan Walters scored from the penalty spot in minute 20.  Penalties given to the host after dropping Jamie Carragher Jermaine Pennant is considered in the penalty box.  The penalty itself is somewhat controversial because of the reruns, it appears that in fact both players are shoving.

Unfortunately, again like the first half, Liverpool still failed to score at all.

The match was ended with the score 1-0 to the host, Stoke City.  These results infuriated the Liverpool manager, Kenny Dalglish, who called his team could have won by three or four goals in the second round.
"We are very disappointed with this outcome, but we are pleased with the effort and commitment from the players," said Dalglish in the club's official website.
"I think we could have scored three or four goals in this match," he said.
